Steven King Decorative carpets was founded in 1978 out of a passion for antique carpets as an art form. Since then, we have become a nationally respected design – driven textile business. Located in the Boston design center since 1986 we are considered as the premiere destination for both antique and contemporary carpets. We are known  throughout the design community for our discerning eye and ability to seek out new and emerging weavings. In recognition that an object doesn’t have to be old to have merit, we started our own custom division to create carpets made to the exacting specifications of Steven Kings’ clientele of interior designers and architects. From period carpets to hand tufted contemporary designs or woven qualities, Steven King is a full-service resource for the interior design community. 

 

Conservation Services

Steven King Decorative Carpets offers full restoration and conservation services for carpets and tapestries. All restoration and conservation work is carried out in our own workshop using the finest yarns and materials available. When necessary, our craftsman will spin and dye yarn to guarantee continuity and integrity with the original material. Each restoration or conservation project is supervised by one of the gallery staff to insure that the work is consistent with the historical authenticity and quality of the carpet.
